AIP to celebrate 8th state Flag Day on Friday | KNO

Srinagar, June 03 (KNO) : Appealing people cutting across political affiliations to participate into eighth state Flag Day function at Srinagar, AIP President Er Rasheed Monday said that people of entire state need to be united to fight for their legitimate political rights and ensure that sanctity of the state flag as guaranteed by constitution is restored and maintained. In a statement issued to KNO, Er Rasheed said, “While it is matter of satisfaction that AIP has been trying to create awareness among masses about the significance and importance of state Flag and the party has been celebrating state flag day every year from the day party came into existence but need of the hour is that other political parties including both separatist and mainstream organizations must understand the significance of state Flag and should become part of the function to be organized in Srinagar on 7th June.” He said everybody has been talking about protecting article 370 and 35A and making state Flag Day a success will reiterate the will of masses that people of J&K will not allow anyone to fizzle with the special status of J&K and they will protect whatsoever constitutional guarantees they have within Indian and J&K constitution. Er Rasheed appealed people, political parties and civil society to accept the open invitation and join the event so that message is send louder and clear that people of the state are united to protect the special status and any attempt to dilute Article 35A, 370 or any such other provision is not acceptable ad will be resisted tooth and nail.(KNO)
